Your Opportunity
We are seeking a Mining Engineer with expertise in caving to join our expanding team. In this role, you will spearhead block cave mine engineering for various mining studies and projects, guiding them from initial concepts to execution. You will manage multiple projects simultaneously, assuming diverse responsibilities.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to provide safe, responsible, and innovative engineering solutions.
- Act as a Qualified Person for NI and SK-1300 reporting.
- Lead block cave mine engineering initiatives, directing other engineers and technicians.
- Oversee small to mid-sized projects effectively.
- Utilize resource block models to design mine access, methods, development, and infrastructure, while preparing development and production plans.
- Estimate productivity performance and assist in preparing capital and operating cost analyses.
- Facilitate meetings and liaise with clients, external consultants, contractors, and vendors.
- Engage in technical reviews and ensure quality assurance and control on projects.
- Contribute to the development of standards and specifications for the mining division.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports.
- Support business development initiatives and proposal preparations.
- Be prepared for potential national or international travel, which may involve extended stays.
- Project management experience is an asset.
- Proficient in 3D Mine Design software, preferably Deswik.
- Advanced skills in Mine Scheduling Software, with Deswik being preferred.
- Proficient in Geovia PCBC and PCSLC software.
- Skilled in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with Mine Health and Safety Regulations.
- Experience in ventilation modeling is advantageous.
- Knowledge of backfill systems is a plus.
- Experience in rock mechanics is beneficial.
- A degree in Mining Engineering from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in underground block cave mining.
- Experience in engineering and operations at an active mine is considered advantageous.
