About the Role

Emory Healthcare is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform therapy procedures and care plans, in accordance with accepted standards, under the direction of a licensed therapist.
  • Supervise support staff and ensure the efficient delivery of patient care services.
  • Conduct administrative duties in support of patient care and departmental functions, including planning individual treatment schedules and accurately recording daily charges for services rendered.
  • Participate in in-service programs, provide training to other staff members, and serve as a clinical instructor to students.
  • Monitor patient responses to therapy or treatment, recognize regression or progression, and report pertinent information to the appropriate staff.
  • Instruct and train patients and their families regarding pertinent aspects of their care.
  • Collaborate with other members of the patient care team to plan for the continued care, support, and follow-up of patients after discharge.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a Physical Therapy Assistant School accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
  • Licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Georgia.
  • BLS certification required.
