Job Description

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is a leading provider of innovative solutions to the Department of Veterans Affairs. We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Test Automation Engineer to join our team in support of a large nationwide program.

About the Role:

  • We are looking for an experienced automation engineer with a strong background in test automation, software development, and quality assurance.
  • The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing and implementing test automation strategies, creating automation test plans, and configuring Selenium environments.
  • This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team to manage and improve the development pipeline.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing test automation strategies to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Creating automation test plans and getting approvals from stakeholders.
  • Configuring Selenium environments, including Eclipse IDE, Java, Selenium WebDriver, and TestNG.
  • Maintaining and extending existing test automation frameworks and tools.
  • Integrating with CI/CD tools and pipelines, such as Jenkins.
  • Troubleshooting and documenting defects.
  • Documenting QA procedures for the team.
  • Working closely with engineering and QA teams to manage and improve the development pipeline.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Systems Engineering, or equivalent technical degree.
  • At least 8 years of experience in automated software development and testing.
  • Experience with Java, C#, or Python programming languages.
  • Experience with Flat File Processing, API, or Backend testing.
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio and T-SQL.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with EDI and financial transaction systems.
  • Experience testing MUMPS, VistA, and other VA systems.

Security Clearance Requirements:

The selected candidate must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance.

Citizenship Requirement:

U.S. citizenship is required for this specific opportunity.

Estimated Salary Range:

$93,725 - $114,650 per annum.
