The Coupling Assembly Technician is a key member of our team, responsible for assembling a wide range of products processed through the coupling department. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assembly Operations: Perform various assembly steps for coupling products, ensuring all parts are properly assembled in accordance with standard operating procedures and drawings.
- Supporting Operations: Assist with all supporting operations within the coupling department, including inventory management, Laser operation, ship preparation, and kitting.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Demonstrate the ability to read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
- Lot Number Management: Understand and demonstrate the ability to work with and track Lot numbers, as well as use and print job travelers, pick lists, and check lists.
- Equipment Operation: Capable of operating all assembly production equipment, ensuring compliance with procedures.
- Quality Control: Review technician's equipment operation to ensure compliance with procedure and maintain high-quality standards.
- Measuring Tools: Knowledgeable of all associated precision measuring tools of the shop.
- Equipment Maintenance: Supports and assists with equipment PM program.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Experience: Zero to 10 years (depending on level) experience in precision mechanical assembly roles, with oil field equipment experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to read and write effectively in English, and ability to translate work instructions and understand details associated with the manufacturing assortment of documents types.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in an Engineer-to-Order or Make-to-Order shop environment, proven ability to read and understand blueprints, and commitment to high-quality standards and continuous improvements.
This position requires an onsite presence to perform the essential duties. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- This position will require working 20% outdoors and 80% indoors in a smoke-free office and manufacturing facility.
- Occasional assignments may include evening or weekend schedules.
- The noise level is usually moderate to loud.
