Job Summary:

The Clinical Dietitian at the University of Vermont Medical Center plans, directs, and provides medical nutrition therapy (MNT) to outpatient oncology patients in designated areas/programs. This role is responsible for nutrition screenings, assessments, the prescription of nutrition orders, ongoing monitoring of patients' care, and documentation of care plans in accordance with department and hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide medical nutrition therapy to patients with diverse nutritional needs, including oral, enteral, and parenteral nutrition.
• Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans for patients with complex nutritional requirements.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and coordinate nutrition services.
• Educate patients, families, and healthcare staff on nutrition-related topics and provide counseling on healthy eating habits.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of nutrition-related policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics.
• Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and Vermont State Certification as a dietitian required.
• Experience in providing MNT to acute inpatients and outpatients with diverse nutritional needs.
