Position Overview

  • Conduct repairs on various types of valves including ball, gate, globe, check, and butterfly valves, as well as actuators at both facility and client locations.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, inspection, and testing of valves at designated job sites.
  • Engage in pre-testing, disassembly, cleaning, in-process inspection, lapping, painting, assembly, testing, and final inspection of diverse valve types and actuation systems.
  • Complete field service documentation and submit it to the job coordinator upon task completion.
  • Possess a solid understanding of pneumatic and digital control systems.
  • Demonstrate the ability to reference relevant valve manuals for repair specifications.
  • Effectively communicate with plant personnel regarding valve and instrumentation equipment and customer needs.
  • Complete all site-specific and safety training necessary for performing valve repair services.
  • Maintain eligibility for driving and ensure regular preventative maintenance on company-owned vehicles.
  • Provide assistance to colleagues as needed.
  • Be aware that job responsibilities may change as directed by management.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED is required; a 2-year Associate Degree in a mechanical discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in valve production or repair is required.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.
  • Willingness to assist in other departmental areas as necessary.
  • Experience in interpreting blueprints and technical diagrams is necessary.
  • Must be capable of lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, and walk for extended periods is required.
  • Able to work in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, clean room).
