Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Hydraulic Systems Testing Specialist is responsible for diagnosing and resolving issues with hydraulic components. This role involves conducting test stand setups, performing thorough inspections upon receipt, executing verification tests, and carrying out teardown inspections, repairs, and overhauls. Additionally, the specialist will validate technical documentation related to qualified product lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and troubleshoot faulty hydraulic components to determine the root cause of issues.
  • Conduct all aspects of receiving inspections, verification testing, teardown repairs, and overhauls of components listed in the capabilities inventory.
  • Provide training to colleagues on company standards, FAA regulations, and military specifications, as well as on troubleshooting and assembly techniques.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, both written and verbal, while collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, and other internal stakeholders in a professional manner.

Required Technical Skills:

The candidate should possess skills including, but not limited to:

  • Ability to interpret Operation Sheets, Blueprints, and Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM).
  • Experience in creating electrical and hydraulic test setups based on schematics or verbal instructions.
  • Proficiency in operating Hydraulic Test Stands or Mules.
  • Competence in using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Familiarity with electrical testing equipment including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, megometers, and dielectric strength testers.

Qualifications:

Training and Experience:

A minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a Product Support Technician or in a similar role is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary, with a technical degree preferred.

Physical Requirements:

The role requires the employee to:

  • Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend down.
  • Occasionally exert 20 to 50 pounds of force, frequently exert 10 to 25 pounds, and constantly exert up to 10 pounds to move objects.

Visual and Hearing Requirements:

Near vision acuity is necessary for reading gauges, blueprints, and written instructions. An annual eye examination is required. The ability to detect machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes is also essential.

Working Environment:

The employee may be exposed to:

  • High noise levels from operating machinery.
  • Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts.
  • Fumes, dust, and mist.
  • Skin exposure to oils and cutting fluids.

The employee may be required to adhere to additional job-related instructions and perform other duties as requested, in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
