Microbiology Laboratory Technician

The Microbiology Department at ALS Environmental performs a range of microbiological testing services for various industries, including drug substances, drug products, excipients, impurities, medical devices, personal care products, and water samples.
Responsibilities- Perform testing as assigned and work in all areas of the Microbiology department, including media preparation.
- Take inventory of microbiological supplies and media.
- Clean all laboratory areas, sample retention areas, and sterility cleanrooms.
- Wash glassware and handle biohazard trash as needed.
- Visit client facilities to perform water and environmental sampling.
- Assist other analysts with their tasks as needed.
- Evaluate data, troubleshoot, and/or implement process improvements with guidance from an Analyst and/or laboratory management.
- Prior experience with microbiology testing procedures.
- Experience working with microorganisms and biohazard trash.
- Experience with aseptic techniques.
- Understanding and application of GLPs and cGMPs.
- Quality Control experience.
A high school diploma with a minimum of 1 semester of direct experience in a college laboratory environment or 1 year of direct experience in a work laboratory environment is required. An AA or BS degree in Microbiology or a Life Science field is preferred.
