Key Responsibilities

  • Capture and edit video segments, including VOs, VO-SOTs, and packages for air and digital distribution.
  • Collaborate with the Assignment Desk and Reporters to cover daily news stories.
  • Utilize professional camera equipment for shooting assignments.
  • Edit video content using Adobe Premiere and manage the transmission of completed work to the station.
  • Collect video and still images for various digital platforms.
  • Work closely with reporters and producers to gather accurate content and facts.
  • Assist producers in achieving their creative vision through dynamic video and authentic sound.
  • Coordinate incoming video materials from field crews.
  • Manage video cataloging systems for efficient storage and retrieval.
  • Produce and publish engaging content for online platforms.
  • Maintain organization and care for all equipment and gear.

Qualifications

  • Formal training in video photojournalism.
  • Experience in a newsroom setting, either professionally or through academic programs.
  • Able to carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Familiarity with ENG trucks.
  • Capable of working in diverse weather conditions.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Proficient in digital editing tools.
  • Knowledgeable in computer software, including Adobe Premiere and other relevant platforms.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Exhibit unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standards.
  • Ability to handle the pressures of time-sensitive news production.
  • Military experience related to the field is a plus.
