Job Overview

MRI Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our Water Technology Team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects, funding sources, and fluctuating priorities from the program office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee core team contractor personnel and ensure tasking is appropriate for their skill sets.
  • Generate new work ideas and lead the team through strategic proposal development, review, and vetting processes.
  • Serve as the primary interface between the contractor team and NASA management.
  • Prepare financial estimates, including cost of new projects/lab support, projected costs to maintain the core team through the fiscal year, and monthly projections.
  • Manage Work Authorization Documents and charge codes to provide the appropriate breakdown of charges for NASA management.
  • Prepare and present monthly Technical/Cost/Schedule/Risk (TCSR) packages for the projects and the lab.
  • Actively maintain schedules and track milestones.
  • Manage procurements for the labs and projects.
  • Assist the lab manager with Test Readiness Review preparation, including the renewal of certification letters.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • A BS degree and a minimum of 5-10 years of experience are typically required.
  • Prior experience with Government and internal company financial reporting, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost estimating.
  • Prior experience managing and leading a team.
  • Experience with research and development efforts.
  • Self-motivated, team player, and adaptability to a dynamic environment and the ability to complete all assignments as required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with customers and management at all levels.
  • Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings.
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and schedules.
  • Soft skills to manage a variety of personnel with different personalities and strengths.
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously and track tasks and issues to completion.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS degree in Science or Engineering from an accredited school and five (5) years of related experience.
  • Familiarity with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of spacecraft systems, specifically water systems.

Work Environment

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
