About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled economist to join our team at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. As a Chief Economist or Visiting Scholar, you will play a key role in shaping our organization's economic policy agenda and engaging with policymakers to advance our mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement economic research and analysis to inform our policy work, including macroeconomic, fiscal policy, and labor market issues.
  • Engage with policymakers, media, and other stakeholders to communicate our research findings and policy recommendations.
  • Collaborate with our team to design and implement effective policy solutions that promote economic justice and equity.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest economic data and research, and apply this knowledge to inform our policy work.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree or PhD in Economics, or related field.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience in economic research and policy analysis.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with policymakers, media, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience working on national policy issues, preferably in a think tank or government setting.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $150,000 to the low $200,000s annually, depending on experience. Our benefits package includes health insurance, vision and dental coverage, life and long-term disability insurance, retirement, MERP, and DCAP. We also offer generous vacation, sick leave, and holiday schedules.
