Amazon Data Scientist Role

**About the Company**: Amazon is a global leader in e-commerce and cloud computing. As a data scientist on our Private Brand Intelligence (PBI) team, you will play a critical role in driving strategic business decisions and improving operations.

The PBI team applies machine learning, statistics, and econometrics to derive actionable insights about the complex economy of Amazon's retail business. You will work closely with business leaders, PMs, scientists, and economists to identify and solve complex problems.

**Key Responsibilities**:

  • Deep dive into existing business problems and translate them into functional requirements
  • Design, develop, and test new statistical models/ML models/Optimization engines
  • Partner with sister teams to develop improved versions of existing models/systems

**Requirements**:

  • Master's degree in a quantitative field or Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience
  • 2+ years of data scientist experience
  • 3+ years of experience in data querying languages, scripting languages, or statistical/mathematical software

**Preferred Qualifications**:

  • Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language
  • Experience in a ML or data scientist role with a large technology company

**Compensation**: The base salary for this position ranges from $125,500/year to $212,800/year based on location. In addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
