Job Title: Culinary Specialist at Martis Camp Club

POSITION SUMMARY: The culinary specialist is an integral member of the Food & Beverage team, dedicated to delivering exceptional quality and service to guests. This role ensures a memorable dining experience by adhering to Martis Camp's esteemed standards of excellence in quality, professionalism, and hospitality.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute the production schedule for all dining venues as directed by culinary leadership.
  • Prepare and organize food items in accordance with Menu or Banquet Event Orders.
  • Cook a variety of hot and cold dishes to order, following both standardized and custom recipes.
  • Consistently provide outstanding service to guests and fellow team members.
  • Train and supervise team members under guidance.
  • Manage food and labor costs effectively, adhering to the chefs' directives and following Martis Camp's recipes and menus.
  • Implement proper food handling practices to reduce waste and control expenses.
  • Assist with inventory management, opening and closing procedures, and other assigned tasks.
  • Prepare the workstation prior to service, ensuring sufficient supplies are available during operations.
  • Handle and store food products correctly to maintain safety and quality.
  • Comply with food safety regulations and maintain a proper sanitizer solution.
  • Ensure all food items are accurately labeled, dated, and stored appropriately.
  • Operate kitchen equipment in accordance with safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Cook the appropriate quantity of items ordered by customers, managing multiple orders simultaneously.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace.
  • Practice FIFO (First In, First Out) for food product rotation.
  • Fulfill all tasks as per the classification's requirements.
  • Lead by example and perform any additional duties assigned by the kitchen supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic understanding of health regulations and knife skills.
  • Willingness to learn and enhance culinary skills through coaching.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Advanced knowledge to operate independently on the line.
  • Proficiency in using and maintaining kitchen equipment.
  • Strong multitasking capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced knife handling expertise.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ethical standards.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND LICENSES:

  • Minimum of 2 years of culinary or related experience.
  • Valid Food Handlers Card approved by the State of California.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Culinary School graduate preferred).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (with or without accommodations)
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Able to stand/walk for up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Regular exposure to various working conditions such as wet/humid areas, extreme temperatures, and more.

Wage Range: $25-$29 hourly
