Substation Engineer Job Description

Gannett Fleming is seeking a highly skilled Substation Engineer to join our Power Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading or supporting utility and power substation projects and clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop substation layout drawings, including plan and elevations, yard layouts, grounding, and control building layouts.
  • Design and develop substation one lines, three lines, Aux AC Power Systems, DC Power Systems, and SCADA and Communications Systems.
  • Prepare calculations and reports, and present them to clients.
  • Manage the technical, financial, and scheduling aspects of substation projects.
  • Act as a project manager, client manager, or capture/proposal manager as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • Professional Engineer License or on the path to obtaining professional licensure.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in design, engineering, and project management within the power and utility industry.
