Job Title: Principal IT Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal IT Software Engineer to join our IT Customer Experience Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality custom-built technology solutions, including our licensing system, which is a critical component of our PANW product ecosystem.

You will work closely with other engineers on the team to consistently deliver high-quality technology products, and your expertise will be essential in driving alignment across development teams in a data-oriented and transparent way.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable and highly reliable business systems
  • Expertly operate in an agile development environment
  • Determine project requirements and develop work schedules for the team
  • Drive alignment across development teams in a data-oriented and transparent way
  • Balance security debt, product stability, and features against go-to-market pressures and timelines
  • Mentor and challenge engineers to continue growing in their discipline

Requirements:

  • At least 12 years of experience in system software development
  • Experience in software development with web servers
  • Understanding of protocols like DNS, HTTP, and TCP/IP
  • Good grasp of asynchronous programming, multithreading, and multiprocessing
  • Able to troubleshoot system-level integration and performance issues
  • Fast learner and eager to absorb new emerging technologies
  • Can-do attitude on problem-solving, quality, and ability to execute
  • Enjoys working with different teams with strong collaboration and communication skills
  • MS/BS in Computer Science or equivalent or equivalent military experience required
  • Full stack system architecture (API/Web/DB/Distributed systems)
  • Back-end: Java (Spring Boot, Spring Security), C# - Web APIs
  • Database: At least one of the following
    • MySQL/PostgreSQL/MSSQL/RDS
    • MongoDB/FireStore/Redshift
  • Platforms: At least one of the following - GCP (preferred)/AWS/Azure
  • Experience with developing UI with React and Sparky framework
  • Experience developing container-based applications
  • Experience with BigQuery
