Key Responsibilities- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with school professionals, behavioral specialists, and other stakeholders to achieve learning and behavioral goals and objectives.
- Behavioral Intervention: Implement behavior management techniques, including prevention, intervention, and consequence strategies, to support students with special needs.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention services to students in need, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Behavioral Planning: Review and implement behavior intervention plans, working closely with instructors and other professionals to achieve desired outcomes.
- Academic Support: Assist in facilitating academic instruction, supporting students in achieving their academic goals.
- SLP, OT, and PT Support: Assist in implementing development plans for students with special needs, working closely with SLP, OT, and PT professionals.
- Documentation and Data Collection: Accurately and efficiently document session data, collecting behavioral and academic data to inform instruction and intervention.
- Confidentiality and Professionalism: Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards of practice, ensuring a high level of professionalism in all interactions.
- Independent Living Skills: Support students in developing independent daily living skills, including self-care activities such as toileting, clothing routines, and personal hygiene.
- Environmental Support: Provide support to students across various environments, including the classroom, playground, lunch room, gym, sensory room, and library.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned or necessary to support the team and achieve organizational goals.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Two years of pediatric experience preferred.
- Professional Standards: Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice.
- Training and Certification: Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable, current CPR certification, TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable, current health certificate (per contract or state regulation), and successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site.
- Communication and Computer Skills: Ability to effectively elicit and provide information to and from appropriate individuals, proficiency in the English language required, and computer proficiency required.
- Age and Other Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age.
