We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Systems Administrator to join our team at Wake County Public School System. - Apply security updates, patches, and configurations to protect Linux systems from vulnerabilities and threats.
- Implement and manage backup solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Provide advanced technical support for complex issues related to Linux systems, including hardware, software, and network problems.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Five years of experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role, with a focus on Linux-based systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Linux distributions, including Red Hat, Ubuntu, and CentOS.
- Proficiency in shell scripting and automation tools, such as Ansible and Puppet.
- Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Experience in an educational environment or public sector, with a proven ability to manage large-scale IT infrastructures.
- Experience with cloud services, such as Microsoft Azure, and familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Certification in Red Hat Linux and/or IBM AIX.
