Key Responsibilities
- Authority to recruit, onboard, terminate, promote, train, and evaluate performance of nursing staff.
- Assign daily tasks and oversee the functional and technical performance of team members.
- Assess and direct staffing requirements to fulfill patient, unit, and departmental needs, collaborating with others to ensure comprehensive staffing solutions.
- Facilitate staff education by identifying training programs for orientation, ongoing education, and skill enhancement.
- Manage performance by setting objectives, clarifying expectations, monitoring progress, providing feedback and recognition, and addressing performance challenges through corrective actions.
- Maintain and review nursing services and relevant policies and procedures, ensuring compliance among nursing personnel.
- Supervise the quality of patient care to guarantee individualized nursing services, reviewing incident reports and recommending timely improvements.
- Ensure patient care delivery maximizes satisfaction while minimizing risks to patients and staff, directing team efforts during emergencies and acting as an advocate for patients and their families.
- Guarantee timely, accurate, and thorough assessments, interventions, and documentation in medical records and care plans, utilizing digital assessment and planning tools.
- Address patient, campus, and office concerns to ensure resolutions are achieved and quality of care is upheld.
- Serve as a technology superuser, assisting in the orientation and training of new staff and acting as a resource for the team.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership and the organization.
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience, or a Master's Degree with no prior experience.
- Completion of a Registered Nurse program.
- Valid RN compact multistate or single state license required.
- BLS or BLS instructor certification must be obtained upon hire.
- ACLS certification is mandatory.
- PALS certification is required.
- TNCC certification is necessary.
