**Overview of the Position:**

Discovery Mood & Anxiety Program is seeking a motivated and empathetic Mental Health Technician to join our residential treatment team. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting patients through their treatment experience, ensuring their safety and well-being.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide milieu interventions, lead psychoeducational groups, and assist patients in navigating the treatment process.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Orient new patients to the treatment program, its requirements, intent, and routine.
  • Conduct assessments within 24 hours of admission and identify any special needs.
  • Monitor patients throughout the treatment experience, maintaining a safe and structured environment.
  • Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere by serving as a role model and demonstrating a caring demeanor.
  • Facilitate treatment plans set forth by therapists, providing day-to-day support to patients and engaging them in positive coping skills.
  • Document behaviors that occur in the milieu in a thorough and confidential manner.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree or one year of experience working with MH or adolescents preferred.
  • Current Driver's License in good standing.
  • CPI and CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days of employment.
