Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team at Vitreoretinal Surgery PLLC. As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our medical team in delivering high-quality eye care services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with patients and demonstrate a patient-centric attitude and professionalism.
  • Gather and relay patient data to the physician, including chief complaint, dates, time intensity, and other associated factors.
  • Administer dilation drops and perform necessary testing, including visual acuity, glaucoma tests, and OCTs.
  • Direct and accompany patients to the appropriate room for care as needed.

Requirements:

  • High School Degree or GED
  • Personal motivation to provide excellent patient care
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous ophthalmology experience (preferred)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred)
  • Excellent team player with cooperative and respectful attitude towards doctors, supervisors, and co-workers
  • Desire to perpetually learn and grow
  • Efficient and accurate user of applicable information technology and healthcare management systems
  • Physically capable of working long hours in a fast-paced, often stressful environment
