The Linux Administrator will be responsible for the provisioning, installation, configuration, maintenance, and operations of both hardware and software of our Linux environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Linux System Management: Manage and maintain our Linux systems, ensuring they are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Server Provisioning: Install and configure new servers based on our standards and operational requirements.
  • OS Installation and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain our Linux operating systems, including patching, new installs, and upgrades.
  • Linux Environment Maintenance: Maintain, configure, monitor, tune, and troubleshoot our Linux environment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Daily Monitoring: Perform daily monitoring of our Linux environment, including hardware, applications, key processes, and scheduled jobs.
  • Backup Operations: Maintain daily backup operations following our operational guidelines.
  • Documentation: Develop, maintain, and contribute to our installation and configuration procedures documentation.
  • Security Monitoring: Perform regular security monitoring of our Linux environment.
  • User Account Management: Manage user accounts and access to our systems.
Preferred Skills:
  • Load Balancing Technology: Understanding of load balancing technology, server farms, and web services.
  • Networking Knowledge: Familiarity with DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP, HTTP, and TLS.
  • Linux Distributions: Technical knowledge and experience with Red Hat Linux, CentOS Linux, SUSE Linux, and Ubuntu Linux.
  • Virtualization: Experience with virtualization technologies.
  • Server Configuration: Server configuration and automation with Ansible.
  • Scripting: Strong scripting experience with one of Shell, Python, Perl, PowerShell, etc.
  • Container Platform: Knowledge of OpenShift Container Platform.
  • Windows Server: Intermediate knowledge of Windows Server systems.
  • Kafka Environment: Experience with Kafka environments.
Requirements:
  • Linux Administration Experience: Minimum of 5 years Linux administration experience or cloud operations role.
  • Scripting Experience: Minimum of 3 years scripting experience (Shell, Python, Perl, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Linux OS Configuration: Experience with Linux based OS configuration and management.
  • Problem Troubleshooting: Problem troubleshooting and solving ability.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills including documentation.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work in a team environment and individually.
