The Auto Body Technician plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional customer experiences through meticulous vehicle assessments and quality repairs. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with colleagues to achieve repair facility KPIs and embody the values of The Boyd Group.
Key Responsibilities- Execute the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan consistently.
- Plan and prepare cost estimates for customers.
- Use various tools to repair vehicle sections, including cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers.
- Hammer out dents, dimples, and minor body damage, or mix and apply filler resins when necessary.
- Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
- Remove and replace damaged vehicle sections with new or aftermarket parts.
- Repair or replace glass and windshields as needed.
- Replace or repair interior parts as needed.
- Weld and attach or fit parts into place.
- Prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint or agreed-upon equivalent.
- Inspect vehicles after repair to ensure all work has been executed correctly.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
- Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop.
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
- Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade.
