Position Summary:
Avanza LLC is in search of an accomplished Financial Analyst specializing in federal financial oversight, cost analysis, forecasting, and data interpretation. This role is essential for a team dedicated to establishing a comprehensive modeling and analytical framework, including the creation of tools that align with a federal client's goals to enhance resource distribution and operational efficiency. Applicants must be eligible to work in the US as US Citizens or permanent residents and must successfully complete a background check as per client security protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the financial management project stream to improve financial practices, emphasizing program operations research, cost analysis, data interpretation, budgeting, and financial modeling.
- Lead the creation and ongoing refinement of financial and operational models to forecast costs and agency outputs, thereby enhancing budgetary effectiveness and resource distribution.
- Implement strategies to improve financial management, budget execution, and formulation processes to enhance data accuracy and transparency.
- Design and deliver training sessions on new financial tools and models to ensure effective usage and proficiency throughout the organization.
- Collaborate with senior executives, including C-Suite members, to translate intricate financial and operational data into strategic insights, facilitating high-level decision-making and policy development.
- Oversee the technical components of financial systems, ensuring adherence to federal financial regulations while utilizing technology to improve financial reporting and analysis.
- Conduct independent verification and validation (IV&V) of financial functions and/or third-party deliverables to uphold and enhance accuracy and compliance.
- Perform thorough quality control on all deliverables.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in financial management and analytics.
- Proven experience in managing financial projects characterized by high complexity and significant impact.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage client relationships and contribute to a high-performing team.
Essential Skills:
- Strong technical skills with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with broader Microsoft platforms (experience with analytics, statistical, and business intelligence tools is advantageous).
- Comprehensive understanding of federal financial management, budget formulation and execution processes, financial modeling, and managerial cost accounting.
