The Director of Mission Integration & Spiritual Care plays a pivotal role in ensuring that our Mission is woven into the fabric of daily operations and interactions.
This position requires close collaboration with the Executive Director and Director of Nursing to foster a culture that embodies our Core Values: compassion, inclusion, integrity, excellence, and collaboration, reflecting our Catholic heritage.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide leadership in Mission Integration within the senior living environment, aligning with strategic priorities set by the Executive Director.
2. Act as the authority on Mission, core values, and heritage, working alongside campus leaders to ensure these principles are integrated into policies and practices.
3. Cultivate a workplace culture that promotes pride and ownership in our Mission.
4. Enhance employee engagement by providing meaning and purpose in their roles, supporting wellness initiatives, and fostering retention.
5. Encourage spirituality in the workplace through prayer and theological reflections with staff.
6. Oversee the formation of staff, including orientation and ongoing development programs.
7. Ensure adherence to the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Healthcare Services, chairing the Ethics committee and facilitating ethics consultations for residents and families.
8. Guarantee that high-quality spiritual care is integrated throughout the continuum of care, especially during end-of-life scenarios.
9. Manage religious services and programs for residents, overseeing chapel use and volunteer recruitment, while engaging with local clergy and faith communities.
10. Advocate for the needs of underprivileged individuals.
Qualifications:
Education:
A Bachelor's Degree is required, with a Master's preferred in theology, healthcare, education, or a related field. A solid understanding of operations and healthcare ethics, along with familiarity with various spiritualities, is essential. Candidates should align with the Catholic Church's framework and the values of CommonSpirit Health.
Experience:
Experience in elder care is necessary, preferably within a healthcare setting. A minimum of two years in management roles is required, along with at least two units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent training in pastoral care, with the intention of becoming a Board Certified Chaplain.
