PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Logistics Coordinator plays a vital role in the warehouse operations. The role also involves receiving, unloading, and verifying incoming merchandise shipments.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF LOGISTICS COORDINATORS:

  • Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders for accuracy in items, quantities, and documentation.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for damage and report any issues to the Warehouse Manager prior to signing for receipt.
  • Document inbound shipment details, including weight, box dimensions, and attach packing lists to purchase orders as per company guidelines.
  • Conduct inspections of incoming products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Organize and stock incoming inventory in designated locations.
  • Prepare necessary documentation for the shipment of materials, parts, and finished goods.
  • Ensure accuracy by cross-referencing pick lists with customer purchase orders.
  • Record outbound shipment details, including origin, batch numbers, and expiration dates.
  • Adhere to packaging requirements set by customers and industry standards to prevent shipping damage.
  • Assist customers at Will Call and ensure proper documentation is provided to accounting.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies in inventory to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Prepare shipments for quality inspection and final dispatch.
  • Report safety concerns to the Warehouse Manager promptly.
  • Follow all ISO 9001 and AS9100 procedures diligently.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S standards.
  • Operate equipment such as scales, scanners, pallet jacks, and forklifts safely and efficiently.
  • Prepare and confirm pick lists in accordance with company shipping procedures.
  • Generate documents including purchase order receipts, pick lists, bills of lading, and shipment confirmations.
  • Determine appropriate shipping methods based on knowledge of logistics procedures and costs.
  • Coordinate with carriers to arrange outbound shipping and delivery instructions as needed.
  • Manage inventory of shipping materials and supplies, ordering replacements as necessary.
  • Participate in annual inventory counts as directed by the Warehouse Manager.
  • Understand and manage shelf-life requirements, labeling products accordingly.
  • Perform all shipping and receiving functions as required.
  • Uphold the principles of company values in all operations.
  • Complete any additional tasks assigned by the Warehouse Manager.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

  • Required – High School diploma or GED.
  • Preferred – High School diploma or GED with one year of relevant experience.
