The Airfield Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing adherence to the Airport Airfield Maintenance Program and ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. This role includes supervising a team of 7 Airfield Workers and receiving guidance from the Assistant Airport Director - Operations Security & Maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct research and analysis to inform decision-making and recommendations related to airport maintenance operations.

- Enforce compliance with regulations and contracts pertinent to airfield maintenance.

- Develop and manage FAA-mandated wildlife programs, winter operations, fleet management, and compliance record-keeping.

- Serve as a liaison with stakeholders regarding airfield activities and manage personnel issues while assisting with budget preparation.

- Formulate and implement policies, procedures, and schedules to ensure the Airport Airfield Maintenance Program operates within Federal, State, and local regulations.

- Update and maintain the Airport Certification Manual (ACM), Snow and Ice Control Plan (SICP), and Wildlife Hazard Management Plan (WHMP) in collaboration with the Airport Operations Manager.

- Analyze existing practices and develop strategies to ensure compliance with FAA directives.

- Provide analytical and administrative support to the Assistant Airport Director and other professional staff, including conducting studies and preparing reports.

- Oversee the Airport Fleet program, including vehicle and equipment maintenance coordination.

- Manage the airport farming program, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

- Develop and manage recurrent training programs for airport staff, including FAA and TSA compliance.

- Supervise all Airport Operations Duty Officers and other classifications involved in airfield activities.

- Assist in preparing the annual budget and monitor related expenditures.

- Conduct safety meetings and inspections, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

- Be available for on-call duties during non-regular business hours for airfield emergencies.

- Respond to airport-related emergencies and operational needs as required.

- Facilitate staff development initiatives, focusing on diversity and a respectful working environment.


Qualifications:


Applicants should possess a combination of education and experience that equips them with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for this role.

We value diverse backgrounds and experiences that contribute to the ideal candidate profile.

- A minimum of four and a half years of progressively responsible experience in a related field, preferably within the commercial aviation sector.

- Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in aviation, airport management, civil engineering, or a related field.

- A valid driver's license and the ability to meet the City's driving record standards.

- Successful completion of relevant airport safety and operations training within the specified timeframe.


Knowledge Required:

- Comprehensive understanding of FAA regulations and directives related to aviation operations.

- Familiarity with materials and practices used in airfield maintenance and construction.

- Knowledge of airport operations principles, including safety and emergency management.

- Proficiency in budget preparation and administration.

- Awareness of OSHA regulations and safe work practices.
