About Express Medical Transporters: Since our inception in 1996, we have been dedicated to providing compassionate, safe, and timely transportation services. Our mission is to assist every passenger, regardless of any disabilities or challenges they may encounter. We take immense pride in ensuring our passengers reach their intended destinations. Our services extend throughout the St. Louis, Missouri metropolitan area and its neighboring regions, including parts of Illinois and Cumberland, Maryland. We cater to various organizations such as educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and more, as well as providing transport for individuals and families to appointments or essential outings.
Position Overview:
Our Transport Support Specialists accompany our Drivers to guarantee a secure, comfortable, and positive travel experience for all passengers, especially those who are wheelchair or stretcher dependent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the boarding and disembarking of passengers.
- Ensure each wheelchair/stretcher is securely fastened using four-point tie-downs and is stable.
- Prioritize passenger safety by assisting with seatbelts and other safety mechanisms.
- Provide passengers with information regarding schedules, stops, and routes as necessary.
- Address special requests and assist passengers with disabilities or those needing extra support.
- Monitor passenger conduct to ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with drivers and supervisors to facilitate smooth operations.
- Respond to emergencies and unforeseen circumstances in accordance with established protocols.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing passenger inquiries and concerns with professionalism.
- Ensure all necessary equipment for passenger assistance is readily available and in optimal condition, including safety straps and securement devices.
- Participate in training sessions and meetings to enhance job-specific knowledge and skills.
- Collaborate with team members to elevate the overall passenger experience.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
