Position Summary: As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you will be integral to the daily functions of Aloro Pet Hospital. Your responsibilities will include assisting veterinarians in delivering high-quality patient care, monitoring animals in recovery, managing inventory, preparing medications, conducting routine laboratory tests, educating pet owners about veterinary practices, and supporting anesthetic procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in evaluating animal health by performing examinations, restraining patients, and reviewing medical histories.
  • Provide care for patients by taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering vaccinations, managing wounds, and conducting laboratory tests and imaging.
  • Prepare for and assist in medical, diagnostic, and surgical procedures.
  • Dispense medications and administer treatments via various routes, ensuring accurate documentation and secure handling of controlled substances.
  • Operate and maintain medical equipment, including EKGs, fluid pumps, and anesthetic monitors.
  • Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during procedures under veterinarian supervision.
  • Exhibit confidence and compassion when interacting with pets experiencing distress or discomfort.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in catheter placement and blood collection techniques.
  • Maintain accurate medical records by documenting patient conditions and updates promptly.
  • Ensure a safe and humane environment by adhering to established protocols and legal regulations.
  • Engage in continuous learning and skill development through continuing education opportunities.
  • Support team dynamics by welcoming new staff and assisting in their training.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Proficient in anesthesia monitoring, pre- and post-operative care, and dental procedures.
  • Certification as an RVT, LVT, or CVT is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceuticals and dosage calculations.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and maintaining an active work pace.
  • Comfortable working in environments with sick animals and potential hazards.

Work Schedule: This is a full-time position.

  • Operating hours: Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM
  • Saturdays from 9 AM to 2:30 PM
  • Closed on Sundays
