Mechanical Engineer Intern

As a Mechanical Engineer Intern at Canon Virginia, Inc., you will gain valuable industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments. You will work on diverse and challenging tasks to gain hands-on experience and assist CVI staff on various projects, tasks, and activities relating to your area of study or coursework.

- Perform assigned tasks consistently in a professional and timely manner to meet required deadlines.
- Utilize good time management skills to effectively and accurately complete work assignments.
- Exercise good judgment and knowledge from the classroom setting and apply it to a professional work environment.
- Apply research techniques, analytical methods, presentation skills, writing skills, and/or technical knowledge to the workplace.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures governing professional staff behavior.
- May be responsible for research, reports, spreadsheets, presentations, etc. as part of assigned projects.
- May work in several departments to assist with completing any additional projects or tasks.
- Participate in activities designed for development during assignment (i.e. Lunch and Learns, Roundtable Discussions, etc.).
- Prepare a presentation summarizing the experiences gained through the internship and present to peers and management.
- May attend meetings and/or company events.
- Student must be working towards an undergraduate degree with the minimum credit hours to be classified as a junior or senior in their studies and have taken several related courses to the field in which they will be assigned.
- Student must be at least 18 years of age.
- Student must be eligible to work in the U.S.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Some positions may require that the intern meet the ITAR definition of "U.S. Person" (22 C.F.R. § as a: U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, or otherwise a protected individual (including refugees and asylees) due to work areas being subject to export controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
