Key Responsibilities- Apply research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.
- Coordinate interdepartmental and/or external research efforts and/or project management activities.
- Responsible for project execution including project plans, communication, internal/external customer briefings, technical reviews, tests plan development, and various other R&D related activities.
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- 5 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 0 years of experience.
- Practical experience in production areas supporting CVNs, VCS, or CLB.
- Engineering knowledge gained through new construction engineering (Carrier and/or submarine) and/or overhaul engineering (Carrier and/or Submarine).
- Facilities engineering experience may also be considered.
- Waterfront engineering and/or waterfront experience is beneficial.
- Good verbal and written communication skills to clearly present technical approaches and findings.
- Demonstrated technical capability and the ability to work in a team environment with craftsmen, individual contributors, and leadership.
