Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Anesthetist to join our team at UT Health Science Center. The successful candidate will provide high-quality anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer anesthesia to patients to ensure their comfort and safety during surgical procedures.
  • Conduct pre-anesthesia evaluations to assess patients' physiological and psychological factors that may impact anesthesia care.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust anesthesia as needed to maintain a stable and safe environment.
  • Record anesthesia information on patient charts to provide a permanent record of care.
  • Provide clinical supervision and guidance to nurse anesthesia students, paramedical, and medical students.
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide critical care as needed.
  • Manage human resources activities, including recruiting, hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
Requirements
  • Current Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse and APRN.
  • Current American Association of Nurse Anesthetist certification (AANA).
  • BLS, ACLS, and/or other specialty certification as required by the department.
  • Meet two of the six established requirements, including experience in a major medical center or trauma receiving hospital, skilled in administration of regional anesthesia techniques, or active pursuit of continuing education credits.
Education and Experience

Masters in Nurse Anesthesia and a minimum of [insert number] years of experience in critical and acute care areas.

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
