SUPPLY CHAIN OVERVIEW

The Supply Chain team at Rocket Lab is integral to the seamless flow of materials, products, and components throughout our operations. As our products often serve as essential elements in both our and our clients' missions, the team's efficiency directly influences the success of our rocket and satellite initiatives. Responsibilities include assembling kits for our technicians, managing inventory, overseeing shipping and receiving, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Senior Logistics & Inventory Coordinator, stationed at Rocket Lab's SSC office, is responsible for comprehensive inventory oversight, encompassing receiving, storage, counting, and kitting of goods. With a vast array of components and significant inventory value, maintaining precise inventory records and ensuring timely fulfillment are crucial to this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process inventory pick requests and compile complete kits for production.
  • Receive inventory into the MRP system and conduct thorough inspections.
  • Manage inventory levels and transactions within the MRP framework.
  • Oversee advanced kitting systems, including Kanban and line-side replenishment.
  • Ensure accurate inventory counts and storage location management within ERP/MRP.
  • Proactively monitor and report on minimum stock levels.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Organize and store standard hardware, purchased materials, and assemblies efficiently.
  • Kit work orders in accordance with company standards and timelines.
  • Maintain inventory of kitting supplies and materials.
  • Collaborate with the material planning department to ensure timely component issuance.
  • Adhere to strict material handling practices and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of all component movements, including incoming goods.
  • Process incoming goods and manage their distribution across the organization.
  • Record serial and lot numbers in the system as necessary.
  • Facilitate quality control processes as required.
  • Organize the storeroom to meet business needs and accurately record part movements.
  • Implement standard warehouse management principles to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Complete cycle counts in alignment with company requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while ensuring tool accountability.
  • Comply with all relevant health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate effectively with all staff to achieve company objectives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to perform a diverse range of complex tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Experience operating a forklift.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree.
  • Team-oriented with strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with effective prioritization capabilities.
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, composites, or heavy manufacturing sectors.
  • Knowledge of control and tracking of serial and lot-controlled materials.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Background in high-paced, rapidly growing environments.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
  • Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer equipment, and communicate effectively.
  • Must be able to commute to various locations as necessary.
  • Occasional exposure to dust, fumes, and moderate noise levels.
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.
