Job Summary:The Academy Director serves as the leader of our designated academy, responsible for carrying out our mission. Key responsibilities include establishing expectations, providing support, and managing accountability for instructional and non-instructional staff. The successful candidate will ensure equity in programming, establish connections within the community, and leverage resources to increase enrollment and improve student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead new student enrollment through recruitment and engagement efforts
- Implement Student Orientation and lead Friday Fidelity Forum Meetings
- Support the Career Life Coach in developing individual learning pathways and support plans
- Train and lead staff in the use of the Retention Cycle Protocol
- Advocate and support site-level incentive programs
- Use technology and Learning Management Systems to track student progress and assign interventions
- Master's Degree preferred (Bachelor's required), in Education or a closely related field
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- 3+ years of direct supervisory experience
- Demonstration of a clear state and federal criminal history
- Experience leading teams that serve students with significant social-emotional needs
- Proficient understanding of ESE (Exceptional Student Education), ELL (English Language Learner), and behavior intervention practices
- Experience working in a non-traditional school setting and/or with youth who may be considered at-risk
The work environment is collaborative and dynamic, with a focus on student success. The successful candidate will be required to sit, talk, and hear regularly, and may occasionally be exposed to outside weather conditions.
