About the Role

Badger Meter is seeking a skilled Assembly Specialist II to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assembling parts according to specified Work Instructions and/or Drawings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in and contribute to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost continuous improvement efforts.
  • Use production systems to record day-to-day customer order activity, view work instructions, and report completed work.
  • Use basic printing programs to complete customer orders when required for a specific job and make adjustments as needed.
  • Take initiative to ensure priority items are completed and seek out additional information from lead or supervisor when needed.
  • May be responsible for basic training of others in the department.
  • Use basic hand, battery, electric, and pneumatic powered tools to complete assemblies.
  • Safely use circular saws, deburring tools to complete modified assemblies.
  • Accurately use laser etcher, dot peen etcher, and engraver to complete modified assemblies to customer specifications.
  • Navigate through basic LX screens to identify inventory requirements and status as needed and utilize system as required to make adjustments.
  • Perform basic 5S and Lean concepts to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient workplace.
  • Responsible for understanding a wider variety of soldering, gluing, and centering to specific tolerances which includes multiple areas/products.
  • Responsible for gas calibrations to test sensors.
  • Able to use function generators and multimeter test equipment.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Associates Degree or vocational training desired.
  • 3 plus years of assembly experience.
  • Basic computer skills including previous experience with an ERP system and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Enthusiasm and ability to work well in a busy environment.
  • Good attendance required.
Physical Requirements

Depending on assigned department, must be able to meet one of the following physical requirements.

  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to lift up to 35 pounds and perform a forward bending and dexterity test.
