Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled LPN Inpatient to join our medical team at Carilion Clinic. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with our interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Practice nursing within the parameters set forth in Carilion Clinic's Plans for the Provision of Patient Care
- Partner with the RN in collecting data, planning, implementing and evaluating patient/resident care
- Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for patients/residents served
- Participate in the nursing process for patients of all ages served
- Contribute to the development of the patient/resident database and interdisciplinary plan of care
- Identify patient/resident/family/caregiver educational needs, incorporate into the plan of care, implement, and document
- Apply knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for patients/residents
- Implement prescribed therapeutic treatment plan and procedures
- Administer prescribed medication to patients/residents
- Demonstrate the role of patient advocate, protector of patient's rights, and provider of psychological/social/cultural support
- Contribute to Carilion's performance improvement activities and demonstrate support of service area/facility/organization initiatives
- Contribute to the orientation and career development of others
Requirements:
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing
Experience: None required
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Licensed to practice practical nursing in the state of Virginia. Must obtain/maintain AHA BLS-HCP. In Psychiatry and Behavioral Health de-escalation training must be successfully completed within four months of hire and then maintained going forward
Other Minimum Qualifications: Must successfully complete orientation and competency requirements. Must be able to meet essential job functions
