As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will participate in the nursing process to administer nursing care under the direction of the RN. Your responsibilities will include collecting data, planning and implementing patient/resident care, and assisting with throughput initiatives to enhance the patient and customer experience.
Key duties of the LPN Inpatient Nurse include:
- Obtaining and validating medication reconciliation on admission and discharge.
- Discharge-focused teachings delegated by RN.
- Assisting with wound care.
- Assisting with safe patient ambulation.
- Role modeling customer service excellence and related initiatives.
- Mentoring Nurse Assistants and serving as an active preceptor to NA's.
- Participating in unit-based council activities/initiatives.
- Obtaining vital signs and focused patient assessment.
Requirements:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing school for practical nursing or registered nurses.
Experience:
Healthcare experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Licensed to practice nursing LPN in the state of Virginia. Must obtain/maintain AHS BLS-HCP required. May be required to obtain/maintain AHA BLS based on specific work unit.
Other:
Employee should enroll into an accredited Registered Nurse program within 15 months of hire.
