Job Summary: As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, you will provide clinical support to physicians and mid-level providers in our Alexandria Primary Care location. Your primary responsibility will be to provide instructions to patients as directed by the providers, ensuring compliance with all OSHA/CLIA and HIPAA regulations. You will also be responsible for completing all duties vital to business operations, including maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring timely completion of forms vital to the revenue cycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide patient care by giving clear direction to patients and addressing their concerns about the exam.
  • Document patient information accurately in the patient chart.
  • Ensure completion of all forms vital to the revenue cycle, including verification/clarification of orders, waivers for non-covered services, and encounter forms.
  • Provide instructions to patients under the direction of providers.
  • Maintain accurate and complete information in patient charts.
  • Ensure adequate levels of supplies in exam rooms and workstations.
  • Clean and disinfect exam rooms.
  • Perform cleaning, maintenance, and/or sterilization of equipment and instruments, reporting malfunctions to supervisors.
  • Ensure OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA compliance.
  • Assist with completion of patient requests.
  • Complete referral processes, outpatient test scheduling, and precertification.
  • Timely and accurate filing/distribution of patient information.
  • Interact with the Central Billing Office as needed to resolve patient issues.

Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and ability to learn other computer skills.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to work professionally with doctors, hospital administration, and management, SEP employees, and the public.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team-based decision-making culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, resulting in effective outcomes and on-time performance.
  • Current state LPN license.
