Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Special Education Services: Provide special education services to students placed with Brightmont from a district.
  • Support Teachers: Understand and support teachers on effective instructional strategies for students with disabilities.
  • Monitor Special Education Programs: Assist in monitoring special education programs and related services to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and local district policies and procedures.
  • Analyze Data: Analyze data to establish appropriate goals and objectives in context of improving academic achievement and social-emotional growth.
  • Promote Research-Based Interventions: Promote the use of research-based interventions, strategies, and instruction.
  • Facilitate Progress Reviews: Facilitate special education students' progress reviews with a focus on data monitoring of student achievement and continuous improvement.
  • Manage Reporting Requirements: Manage and complete any reporting requirements as needed by the district or ISBE for each student.
  • Monitor and Evaluate: Monitor, evaluate, and ensure the implementation of Individual Education Programs and inclusive practices.
  • Collaborate with Campus Directors: Collaborate with Campus Directors and District Representatives to assess and analyze the needs of individual students.
  • Maintain Quality Interactions: Consistently maintain quality interactions with teachers, students, parents, and the larger community.
  • Protect Confidentiality: Maintain and protect the rights and confidentiality of others.
  • Perform Additional Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Essential Experiences and Skills
  • LBS1 Certification and Principal Endorsement: Must have an LBS1 Certification AND Principal Endorsement / Type 75.
  • Education: 4 year Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred.
  • Technology Skills: Demonstrates proficiency of technology resources, tools, and curricula.
  • Administrative Skills: Experience using G-Suite and Chromebooks.
  • Communication Skills: Positive professional communication skills: written, verbal, and non-verbal.
  • Instructional Strategies: Able to provide quality and effective instructional strategies.
  • Background Screening: Able to pass a federal background screening.
