Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech Language Pathologist Assistant to support our young patients in their journey towards improved communication. This role involves adhering to the treatment protocols established by a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. The therapeutic interventions may address various challenges related to speech and language, as well as provide rehabilitative services for clients experiencing communication and swallowing disorders.

  • Employment Type: Full-Time/PRN
  • Compensation: $29-40 per visit

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the treatment plans developed by a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, focusing on speech and language disorders.
  • Work under the guidance of a licensed speech-language pathologist to deliver effective therapy.
  • Execute the care plan for speech and language services as prescribed by the physician, ensuring safe administration in the client’s home.
  • Monitor and document any changes in the client’s condition, promptly reporting significant observations to the supervising speech-language pathologist.
  • Collaborate with the supervising speech-language pathologist to adjust the care plan as necessary.
  • Make modifications to the treatment plan as directed by the supervising speech-language pathologist and authorized by the physician.
  • Engage in discussions with the supervising speech-language pathologist regarding the client’s progress and response to therapy.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited speech and audiology program is required.
  • Current licensure as a speech-language assistant, with up-to-date observation and supervision records.
  • Proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License and proof of current liability insurance are mandatory.
  • Annual TB screening is required.
  • Current certification in basic life support (CPR) is necessary.
  • Proficient in computer software for document preparation, with a preference for MS Office experience.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds continuously.
