- Oversee the processing and posting of claims for patients under various insurance plans, ensuring accurate updates and statuses in the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) system
- Correct any inaccuracies in patient information, account status, and insurance verification
- Manage daily submission of insurance claims and conduct follow-ups
- Generate regular reports on claims status
- Handle communications from insurance providers or patients, responding appropriately via email, phone, or portal
- Prepare correspondence, forms, and other documentation for external agencies
- Research and process credits, including recoupments and refunds, to insurance companies and patients as necessary
- Maintain coding and policy updates with insurance providers
- Stay informed on ICD-10, CPT codes, and relevant medical terminology
- Act as a subject matter expert in RCM, providing assistance and training to RCM specialists
- Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications effectively (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Familiarity with Modernizing Medicine practice management system and orthopedic billing and collections is advantageous
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Experience:
Five to ten years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management related to the responsibilities outlined.
