Position Overview

The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing the technical components of a contract or program.

This role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring that cost, schedule, and technical specifications are met to deliver products and services to our clients.

The ideal candidate should have a comprehensive skill set that includes hardware and software integration, systems engineering, and testing.

Moreover, they must demonstrate exceptional organizational and communication skills to effectively engage with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as the primary technical liaison for the assigned project across all engineering disciplines.


- Generate recommendation reports, analyze alternatives, and conduct gap analyses of relevant tools and technologies that can support customer missions.

- Provide technical and programmatic updates and guidance to the Project Manager, Chief Engineer, senior leadership, clients, and business partners.

- Direct the engineering team to ensure all technical delivery milestones and contractual obligations are met in accordance with the project execution budget and timeline.

- Identify engineering resource requirements and collaborate with Engineering Functional Management for resource allocation to effectively meet project execution goals.


- Oversee, review, and approve all technical inputs and deliverables.


- Facilitate and review all technical content for Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs) and milestone technical reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, PRR).


- Develop and present project-specific technical content (e.g., roadmap, technical risks, SOW technical requirements) for TIMs and milestone technical reviews.

- Ensure compliance with established processes throughout project execution.

- Foster a safe, collaborative, and innovative work environment through strong leadership principles.

- Acknowledge team accomplishments through encouragement and the use of available HR tools.

- Hold team members accountable for performance expectations through direct engagement and coordination with Engineering Functional Management.

- Engage with clients and business partners to understand future needs and identify growth opportunities.


- Prepare and coordinate inputs for Basis of Estimates (BOEs) that are executable while remaining competitive in response to proposals and ROM estimates.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related STEM field (consideration will be given to years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree). 5+ years of experience in defense/DOD.

- Proven experience in requirements development, integration and testing, and stakeholder approval.

- Experience in integrating hardware and software systems in both laboratory and field environments.

- Proficient in collecting requirements and providing technical estimates.


- Demonstrated experience in engineering project management, including project plans, schedules, technical task estimations, resource estimations, risk assessments, CDRL deliverables, and compliance with company processes.


- Strong technical knowledge and proficiency in relevant software tools: requirement analysis tools, CI/CD pipelines, Agile management tools, and test management tools.

- Familiarity with safety regulations and quality control procedures.

- Knowledge of Open Architecture Standards (e.g., FACE, OMS).

- Understanding of modeling methodologies (e.g., SysML, UML, DoDAF).

- Familiarity with hardware interfaces (e.g., 1553, serial).

- Familiarity with software interfaces (e.g., STANAG 4586, FACE TSS, OMS CAL).

- Familiarity with configuring networks (e.g., VLANs, SDN).

- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
