Key Responsibilities

  • Establishes project parameters, objectives, and deliverables that align with organizational goals, collaborating with upper management to develop timelines and milestones; proactively manages changes in project scope, identifies potential challenges, and formulates contingency strategies; articulates project success criteria and communicates them to all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Creates and implements best practices and tools for effective project management, ensuring that policies and procedures are well understood and followed across the organization.
  • Monitors project progress and execution; prepares and presents status reports to leadership.
  • Sets standards and expectations through regular communication with end users.
  • Cultivates and maintains relationships with department heads and senior leadership to ensure project alignment with business objectives.
  • Participates in and contributes to project progress meetings.
  • Acts as a mentor for the community of practice and provides training on Simmons Bank standards and governance documents.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures related to this role, including the completion of necessary compliance training.
  • Undertakes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty effectively. The qualifications outlined below represent the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

Skills

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting documents such as procedural manuals, business correspondence, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Capable of delivering information effectively in both individual and small group settings, addressing customers, clients, management, and colleagues.
  • Skilled in managing processes and personnel, even when those individuals are not directly under their supervision.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline, and
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, including on-the-job training or vocational education;
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial products and industry best practices, along with regulatory requirements for model risk management;
  • PMP certification is highly preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet software.

Certifications and Licenses

  • Project Management Professional certification is mandatory.

Additional Qualifications

  • Strong time management, verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, judgment, motivation, reliability, project management, and analytical abilities.
  • Collaborative mindset with excellent interpersonal skills.
