We seek a committed individual to provide Child Protective Services and in-home prevention services. Family Support Services Coordinator I:
This entry-level role involves training across various program areas, including Adult/Adult Protective Services, Child Protective Services, Foster Care/Adoption, Child Care, and Employment Services. Responsibilities include supervised casework, with case actions reviewed by a supervisor. Successful completion of the training program will transition the role to a full-performance Family Support Services Coordinator II.
Family Support Services Coordinator II:
At the full performance level, employees are responsible for creating and executing individualized service plans across program areas such as Employment Services, Child Care, Adult/Adult Protective Services, Foster Care, and Adoptions. Employees will work independently, seeking guidance on complex issues or policy matters as needed.
The Family Support Services Coordinator II is recognized for advanced expertise in specialized program areas and is entrusted with more complex responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Understanding of social work principles, human behavior, and social, economic, and health issues
- Ability to communicate effectively, assess client needs, make sound judgments, and manage work activities
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree with relevant experience as per Virginia regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications include familiarity with social work principles, laws, regulations, and experience in Child Protective Services or Foster Care. Prior experience with OASIS, a BSW or MSW degree, and a Virginia Social Worker license are advantageous.
Special Requirements:
- Applicants will undergo background checks, DMV records checks, and drug screenings
- Must be available to work in community emergency shelters when necessary and provide after-hours on-call support
