Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Drilling Assistant to join our team at WSB. As a Drilling Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our drilling operations and ensuring the safe and efficient completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Driller with geotechnical drilling operations at designated locations, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and procedures.
  • Perform light to moderate maintenance on WSB drill rigs, as needed, to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Load and secure necessary equipment for transportation to and from project sites.
  • Assist with setting up rig on boring locations identified by clients, ensuring accurate and efficient deployment.
  • Transport auger and sampling equipment from the drill rig to the boring location and return them when completed.
  • Backfill borings as requested by clients, maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Break-down and store equipment for move to next location, adhering to established protocols.
  • Ensure all equipment is accounted for, reasonably clean, and secured on the drill rig at the end of each day.
  • Assist with and perform necessary light to moderate drill rig maintenance, troubleshooting issues as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
  • Previous drilling experience or familiarity with heavy equipment is highly desirable.
  • Colorado CDL (Commercial Driver's License) or willingness to obtain one is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions and lift a minimum of 75 pounds throughout the day.
  • Periodic overnight travel and overtime may be required.
