About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our attending physicians to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage complex acute, critical, and chronically ill patients, utilizing relevant data to evaluate for physiologic instability and formulate a plan of care.
  • Perform therapeutic interventions to stabilize acute and critical health problems, adhering to the Scope of Practice Document and approved as part of the credentialing/privileging process.
  • Analyze indications, contraindications, risk of complications, and cost-benefits of therapeutic interventions.
  • Manage the plan of care through evaluation, modification, and documentation according to the patient's response to therapy, with a focus on optimizing patient outcomes.
  • Incorporate health promotion, health protection, and injury prevention measures into the plan of care within the context of complex acute, critical, and chronic illness.
  • Facilitate patient transitions between and within healthcare settings.
  • Serve as an educational resource to patients, families, nursing staff, and provider teams, acting as a consultant to multidisciplinary healthcare team members.
  • Participate in scholarly activities, including research and education, and maintain required competencies through ongoing professional development.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Nursing required; Doctorate in Nursing preferred.
  • Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) licensure required upon hire.
  • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) (Pennsylvania) licensure required upon hire.
  • Prescriptive Authority (Pennsylvania) licensure required within 3 months.
  • Specialty certification in area of education/subspecialty required, matching scope of practice for that practice area.
