Position Overview

The Renewable Energy Project Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting various pre-construction development initiatives for ENGIE's extensive portfolio of large-scale renewable energy projects throughout North America. This position involves collaboration with the development team on all facets of project progression, from initial planning to the commencement of construction. Key responsibilities include navigating local, state, and federal regulations, engaging with the community and stakeholders, conducting environmental assessments, and assisting in project financing evaluations.

The Project Coordinator will collaborate closely with land acquisition teams, interconnection specialists, engineering departments, and other relevant sectors to drive the company's objectives in renewable energy growth.
  • In this role, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for:
  • Overseeing and advancing the development processes of utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects from feasibility studies to construction initiation.
  • Coordinating environmental assessments, permitting processes, transmission and interconnection efforts, land procurement, and design activities in partnership with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
  • Engaging with consultants, evaluating their reports, and ensuring effective implementation of findings.
  • Staying informed about industry advancements, tax incentives, and emerging technologies.
  • Preparing permit applications and participating in public hearings related to permitting.
  • Managing submissions and communications with local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Formulating project financial models in accordance with investment standards and off-take strategies.
  • Communicating with landowners and stakeholders to keep them updated throughout the development phases, including participation in community outreach events.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive database to track project milestones.
  • Assisting in energy off-take agreements, financing arrangements, and documentation for mergers and acquisitions.
  • Creating investment presentation materials for internal investment committees.
  • Reviewing financial models to assess the impact on project returns.
  • Keeping abreast of renewable energy trends and opportunities in North America, as well as understanding their implications for competitiveness in the market.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Administration, Finance, Energy, Economics, or a related field with experience in project development, permitting, project management, or business development.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in renewable energy development or related project development fields, with a strong understanding of permitting processes and community engagement.
  • Proficient in project management, capable of multitasking and prioritizing essential tasks.
  • Adept at fostering constructive relationships with public officials and regulatory agencies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to present to diverse audiences, including landowners, potential off-takers, government representatives, and corporate executives.
  • A proactive self-starter with a results-driven mindset, capable of working effectively within geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
Additional Information
  • This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time, including occasional overnight trips.
  • Compliance with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies is required.
Compensation

Salary Range: $84,000 - $128,800 USD annually.

This range reflects the average expected pay for qualified candidates. Actual salary may vary based on geographic location, experience, industry knowledge, education, and internal pay alignment.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for a competitive bonus/incentive plan.
