We are advancing a significant pipeline of nearly 2 gigawatts of development projects, with a growing portfolio expected to reach 300 megawatts by 2025.

Position Overview:

The Development team at SunVest is tasked with creating new land opportunities for both ground-mounted and rooftop solar installations, as well as battery storage solutions, in preparation for our construction division. This role may involve rotation between departments based on the solar industry's cyclical nature.

As a Project Development Associate, you will report directly to either the Director of Program Management and Interconnection or the VP of Project Development. Your responsibilities will encompass all facets of development for solar and battery storage projects, including land acquisition, community engagement, initial permitting processes, and submission of interconnection applications.

Your organizational skills and time management abilities will be crucial to SunVest's ongoing success, contributing to our sustainable growth strategy and the formulation of strategic plans aimed at enhancing renewable energy generation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interconnection Application Development: Generate and submit initial applications for project interconnections.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Oversee initial outreach and maintain ongoing communication with landowners or building owners, including facilitating meetings and lease negotiations.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct research utilizing publicly available data to identify potential project risks and ensure adherence to relevant regulations.
  • Deadline Coordination: Assist in managing critical interconnection deadlines and interpreting study results to support project decision-making.
  • Document Oversight: Manage the organization and filing of incoming executed lease documents, ensuring accurate electronic recording with county authorities.
  • Project Timeline Monitoring: Track project schedules and take decisive actions to keep projects on track.
  • Exhibit Preparation: Aid in preparing project exhibits and presentations for stakeholder meetings and regulatory submissions.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, business management, or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year in project management, preferably within the renewable energy sector, is preferred but not mandatory. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Project Management Expertise: Demonstrated ability to manage project timelines and stakeholder interactions.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to make strategic decisions independently.
