Job Overview:
The Infrastructure Solutions Architect is responsible for the provisioning, configuration, operation, and maintenance of hardware, software, and network infrastructure. This role ensures compliance with policies and standards while overseeing system monitoring, security, backups, user account management, and performance optimization, as well as troubleshooting and upgrading infrastructure to support business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure administration, engineering, and provisioning
- Operations and support, maintenance, and research and development to ensure continual innovation
- Respond to Tier 1-3 support requests
- Maintain up-to-date project and architecture documentation
- Maintain up-to-date inventory and maintenance records
- Monitor system resources for server/network anomalies
- Resolve connection issues between users and resources
- Maintain detailed change history of changes
- Support team efforts to improve cybersecurity controls and defenses
- Install new/configure existing hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc.
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes
- Review system and application logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
- Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions
- Perform daily backup operations and regular file archival and purge as necessary
- Create, change, and delete user accounts per request
- Provide Tier III/other support per request from various constituencies
- Investigate and troubleshoot issues
- Diagnose and recover from hardware or software failures
- Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies
- Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities
- Configure/add new services as necessary
- Upgrade and configure system software that supports GIS infrastructure applications or Asset Management applications per project or operational needs
- Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
- Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required
- Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required
Required Skills:
- 5 years of experience with general Information Technology
- 5 years of experience providing customer service
- 4 years of experience with Cisco routing and switching
- 4 years of experience with hardware installation
- 3 years of experience with network design
- 3 years of experience with Vsphere/Virtualization
- 1 year of experience with VPN & remote access technologies
Preferred Skills:
- Cybersecurity experience
