Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • In-depth understanding of behavioral strategies and special education principles.
  • Minimum of one year of successful experience working with students, particularly those with significant behavioral challenges.
  • Knowledge of special education regulations, including restraint and seclusion policies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with district staff, students, parents, and the community.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to address challenging situations tactfully and respectfully.
  • Skills to provide guidance, training, and modeling of behavioral practices and interventions.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of behavioral interventions, accommodations, and modifications across various settings.
  • Serve as a consultant, supporting the development of behavioral plans, assessments, and interventions, while consistently modeling and evaluating their implementation.
  • Communicate effectively with educators and other school personnel, including related service providers and administrators.
  • Establish and maintain documentation for ongoing communication with educators and team members.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with educators and students to monitor progress.
  • Assist in the execution of behavioral plans and adapt interventions for staff as needed.
  • Demonstrate and model crisis prevention techniques in accordance with school policies, maintaining confidentiality of all stakeholders.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavioral Intervention Plans.
  • Attend Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and team meetings as required by the educational team.
  • Maintain professional development through in-service education and self-directed growth activities.
  • Adhere to all district policies and maintain accurate records as mandated.
  • Foster professional relationships with students, educators, administrators, and parents.
  • Uphold Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification and demonstrate adaptability to changing schedules and plans.
  • Model professional conduct, attire, and communication within the educational environment.
  • Complete additional responsibilities as assigned, ensuring regular and predictable attendance.
  • Represent the district at relevant local, state, and national meetings as appropriate.
  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Fulfill other duties consistent with the position as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:
In the event of absence, notify the supervisor or designated individual as early as possible.

Complete necessary forms for leave and reimbursement.

Attend scheduled administrative meetings.

Serve as a role model for ethical conduct and democratic values within the educational community.

Adhere to safety regulations and policies as outlined by the district and relevant authorities.
