Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Extensive knowledge of behavioral strategies required along with special education expertise.
One or more years of successful experience working with students, particularly those with significant behavioral challenges.
Demonstrated understanding of Special Education as well as policies and regulations regarding restraint and seclusion.

Interpersonal skills essential for effective communication and productive collaboration with all levels of district staff, students, parents, and the community.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of addressing problem situations with tact, courtesy, and respect.
Skills necessary to provide guidance, training, and modeling of behavioral practices and interventions.

Ability to adapt and respond to multiple priorities and demands, addressing concerns of staff, students, and parents in a timely manner and resolving issues positively.

Willingness and ability to collaborate with students, staff, and parents as a team member.
Proficient computer skills relevant to the position.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Effective communication skills in English.
Access to a personal vehicle.
Ohio educational aide certificate.
Ability to physically manage students with disabilities.
Ability to lift 40 pounds unassisted.
Ability to navigate stairs unassisted.
Pass a criminal background check

Core Responsibilities:
Exhibit comprehensive knowledge regarding behavioral interventions, accommodations, and modifications across all areas.
Demonstrate knowledge of resources for teacher development.

Serve as a consultant and provide support in the creation of behavioral plans, assessments, and interventions, consistently modeling and assessing the implementation of these strategies.

Communicate effectively with teachers and other school personnel (related service providers, paraprofessionals, administrators). Maintain effective communication with BCBA Supervisor.
Establish and uphold a system for documenting ongoing communication with teachers and educational team members.
Conduct regular check-ins with teachers and students to discuss progress.
Assist in the execution of behavioral plans.
Model and adapt interventions for staff.
Effectively demonstrate and model CPI in accordance with school policy. Maintain confidentiality of students, families, and school personnel. Participate in the development and implementation of Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavioral Intervention Plans.
Engage in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and team meetings as requested by the educational team.
Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and/or self-selected professional growth opportunities.
Perform all duties in accordance with the adopted Board policies. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by district policy and administrative regulation.
Foster professional rapport with students, teachers, administrators, school personnel, and parents.
Maintain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification. Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changes in schedules and plans. Communicate clearly both orally and in writing with all segments of the school community.
Exhibit appropriate dress, language, and conduct as a professional educator.
Complete other job performance criteria as assigned. Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.
Perform all duties in compliance with the adopted Board Policy.
Represent the district at local, state, and national meetings as appropriate.
Plan and organize work to meet deadlines.
Perform other tasks consistent with the position as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:
In case of absence, notify the supervisor/director or their designee as early as possible.
Complete necessary forms for sick, personal, or professional leave, reimbursement, etc.
Attend scheduled meetings called by the administration.
Serve as a role model for educators and students in demonstrating responsible citizenship and ethical principles.
Instill in students and staff the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor/director.
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout their employment with the district.
Observe Risk Reduction Safety Rules and Regulations of the district, as well as state and federal laws, and will be evaluated on compliance and implementation as an employee of such rules and regulations for safety in the workplace.
